Artwork for Sale by Robert Indiana

Robert Indiana was born in 1928 in New Castle, Indiana and died in 2018. Robert became incredibly famous for his hard-edged signs, calligraphy, pop object paintings, and sculptures.

He attended the Herron School of Art and Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute before going to the School of Art Institute of Chicago, Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland. After a vast education, he became a prominent figure in the pop-art world where he gave new meaning to words like “EAT”, “DIE” and “LOVE”.

Much of his work can be viewed as ironic commentary on the state of America at the time, where his pieces seemed to denote a rebellious message.
