LeRoy Neiman was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1921 and died in 2012. LeRoy began indulging in art at a young age and went on to study at St. Paul School of Art and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he later would teach figure drawing and fashion illustration. After receiving his education he became a popular artist in America for his sports paintings, where he depicted scenes from the Olympics, the Super Bowl, tennis matches, horse racing, and many other popular sports and events. Utilizing an impressionistic style, he obviously showed signs of inspiration from the likes of Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir, and Degas.
