Julian Opie was born in Oxford, England in 1958. Opie studied at Goldsmith’s School of Art and graduated from Goldsmith’s, University of London in 1982. He is a most recognized for his work as a visual artist of the New British Sculpture movement.
In the early 80’s he produced a series of painted metal works, creating steel sculptures using architectural structures and domestic appliances. The scale of these works and unique perspective have over the past four decades have lent themselves well to exhibition in publics spaces in Tokyo, New York, Prague, Zurich, Seoul, Calgary and London.
