James Rosenquist was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1933 and died in 2017. James had a vast education in art studying at Minneapolis Art Institute, University of Minnesota, and then earning a scholarship to Art Students’ League, New York where he met Robert Indiana.
Rosenquist found great success in his art, creating collages, modernist pop image paintings, and graphics as well as working with lithographs. Some of his most well-known works include a collage of John F. Kennedy’s face combined with sex and automobile imagery, as well as a work he titled F-111 which is his most popular piece. James has been featured all over the world in various museums.
