George Rodrigue

George Rodrigue – Born: 1944 – New Iberia, Louisiana and died 2013. George began drawing and painting at a young age. In his early years he went on to study at the University of Southwest Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) in the mid-1960’s and then attended the Art Center College of Design. Throughout his time as an artists, he painted dark and full landscapes, moved on to Abstract Expressionist works, and then went back to creating landscapes and folk tales. Much of his acclaim to fame comes from his Blue-Dog Series in which he immortalized his childhood pet in various situations.
